Energy Efficient Building Envelope Improvement

Department of Army, Mission & Installation Command (MICC)

Scope
As part of the Army’s Energy Reduction Program, Frazier Engineering provided all materials, labor, equipment, transportation, and services to design/build Energy Efficient Building Envelope Improvements, renovations and repairs for 13 buildings (including academic, administrative, lodging, and research facilities) as prime contractor.

Implementation
These buildings were built with concrete block, masonry or metal walls and were never insulated with single pane windows. This allows heat to conduct through the walls easily, forcing heating and cooling systems to work harder and/or leaving building occupants uncomfortable. Demolition and decommissioning was required. Associated disconnect/reconnect work to the existing fire alarm system for the improvements was also included. Renovation and alteration work for all buildings met construction industry standards. Frazier was also required to follow all safety guidelines as set forth by OSHA and US ACOE EM185-1-1.
